Today I am going to share how to make a soap dispenser out of an old pickle jar. It sounds weird, but it is actually really cute and quite resourceful. ย ย All you need is a jar (see below), a pump from a plastic soap dispenser, a power drill, scissors, glue, and some paint.
I started by enlisting Joey and his power drill.ย Iย had him measure the diameter of the pump and drill an appropriately sized hole into the jar lid.
Then he helped cut the pump’s straw so that it was just slightly shorter than the jar’s height.
I didn’t like the color of the jar’s lid, so I painted it with some leftover chalkboard paint.ย Then I used superglue to affix it to the pump.
After letting the glue fully dry, I screwed the lid onto the jar and gave it a few test pumps.
It’s as simple as that.ย I filled the jar with hand sanitizer instead of soap, but it could be filled with liquid soap, shampoo, conditioner, or whatever you please.
So cute.
Thank you for helping us craft challenged ladies out there with something so simple!!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed this tutorial.
I find it amusing when material list details needing “Only” & “All” and can’t forget “Just a Power Drill”.
So much for a quick & easy weekend craft… Now I have to go to the hardware store or tolls department of major store and buy a $ power drill first. I hope on Monday morning to still have 8 fingers and 2 thumbs naturally attached to my hand (not surgically re-attached)!! ๐
I’m in an ornery humor mood today! LOL
I saw on a craft site

It linked me to this page. I was hoping I’d find my answer, but i didn’t. You used Dawn dish soap and 2 other ingredients (I’m assuming lavender!), but in what form and what was the other ingredient?
Thank you and thank you for sharing!
