Today I have a fun and easy craft to share.  An elegant bridal brooch that is perfect for bachelorette parties, bridal showers, and engagement parties.

Take a thick piece of paper, and fold it accordion style.  You can fold it either lengthwise or widthwise, depending on how large you want the brooch.  When you are done, fold the bunch in half and tape the two closest ends together (as shown below).  Spread the folds out like a fan. You will need two fans, so repeat this process once more.

Line the two fans up and tape them together to create a full circle.

Cut a circle out of a piece of cardboard for the backing.  Then, using a hot glue gun, paste the cardboard circle to the brooch.

To make the rest of the brooch, you will need a ribbon, and two different sheets of paper.  One of the sheets needs to be white or beige, but the other sheet can be whatever color or pattern you choose.  Cut circles into both sheets of paper. The circles should be smaller than the brooch fan you made a few steps back.  Additionally, the white circle should be slightly smaller than the other circle.  The circles I used have scalloped edges, but that is optional.  One the white circle, write the word “BRIDE” in your best handwriting.  Glue the white circle to the center of the other circle.  Then take a piece of ribbon, and tie a small bow.

Assemble all of the pieces and glue them together using a hot glue gun.  Once the glue has dried, turn the brooch over and attach a pin back to the cardboard backing.  You can buy pin backs in bulk at any local craft store.  They are always handy to have around.

… and that, my friends, is how you make a bridal brooch.

The finished product looks great.  It’s hard to believe that such a pretty brooch was made with paper!
