A few weeks ago, I went antique shopping with a friend. It was one of my first outings without Florence and Nico, and my mission was simple… find some dining room chairs. I didn’t succeed, but I did end up stumbling on an amazing chair shaped like a hand. I had no major use for it, but I couldn’t get it out of my head.  So a few weeks later, I dragged the whole family to check it out once more. (Side note: taking a 4 year old and baby to an antique store is anxiety inducing – I like to live on the edge). After some deliberation, Joey agreed that we had to have the hand chair. It’s weird, unique and totally on brand for us. The price tag was $910, which is hefty for us, but worth it since it’s from the 1960s and is a total statement piece.handchair2 handchair3

Cool, right? I put it in the entryway for now, but it’s kind of in a corner and I think it deserves a more prominent spot (nobody puts baby in a corner, am I right?).

For anyone in the Seattle area, the store I got this at was Lander Street Vintage (formerly known as Pacific Galleries).
