For my third “The Look for Less–Design Style,” I will be finding a stylish, more affordable alternative to the Blu Dot One Night Stand Sleeper Sofa (check on my previous features here and here). Since it’s inception in 2008, the Blu Dot One Night Stand Sleeper Sofa has been one of the most popular sleeper sofas out there. It’s not hard to see why. With a modern design and superb functionality, this sofa is a small apartment dweller’s dream; however with a price tag of $1,799, it is just that–a dream, not a reality for many who can’t afford to drop that amount of money on a sofa.
A great alternative is the Night and Day Convertible Sofa from Urban Outfitters. It retails at a reasonable $649, making it far more wallet friendly than it’s Blu Dot twin. One of the great features of this sofa is that it has three positions–upright, lounge, and sleep. It has a mid century modern vibe, which I love. The only thing I am unsure of is it’s comfort level. The reviews I have read are quite good, but I’m a little skeptical. I would imagine that it is fine for a night or two, but it wouldn’t function as a full time bed. Maybe I’m wrong though.
