Our backyard is hands down my favorite part of our house. Hiring a landscape architect a few years ago, was one of the best decisions we have ever made. But after a few years in the sun and rain, our outdoor furniture was a bit worn. At the end of last season, we sanded and stained the furniture, but the cushions were still really faded.
When you lifted up the back cushion, the difference was pretty stark.
So instead of buying new cushions, we did the frugal thing — we painted the cushions. Yes, you can paint fabric. You just need to mix acrylic paint with fabric medium.
After two coats, our cushions look brand new!
