I broke one of my cardinal rules today. I decorated for Christmas pre-Thanksgiving. I am firmly in the camp that you should wait to decorate until after Thanksgiving, but I made an exception this year because Thanksgiving is super late and I found a garland at Goodwill that I was itching to try out. So I decorated our mantle, nothing else, which makes me feel like I only semi broke the rules.
The garland was definitely on the more artificial side, which I didn’t love, so I added in eucalyptus leaves sporadically to give it some depth. I think that made a huge difference. I also placed it asymmetrical to add some additional visual interest. Now if only I didn’t have that bulky TV junking up the mantle. I’m keeping an eye out for a Black Friday deal on a Samsung Frame TV because that is the only TV that I think will look semi-decent. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
