Dollar Store Paper Lantern Makeover

I love paper lanterns, so I was so excited to see that Dollar Tree’s summer inventory includes a big selection of these awesome decorative lights.  Even though the lanterns are beautiful on their own, I wanted to create something even more romantic and decorative, so I decided to embrace my inner Martha Stewart and get crafty!  I followed the following tutorial, but instead of using the expensive supplies that Martha suggests, I used all dollar store materials to create this whimsical lantern!

Martha’s Version:

My version:

Tissue Paper (Dollar Tree)
Paper Lantern (Dollar Tree)
Double Sided Tape (on hand)

Cut the tissue paper into circles of your desired size (mine are the size of half dollars). Starting at the bottom and working your way up, tape the circles to the paper lantern using the double sided tape. That is it! So simple and so elegant.
