Joey and I are always on the lookout for inexpensive home decor for our apartment, so when we spotted the Ikea Melodi pendant lamp at Goodwill Outlet, we couldn’t pass it up.  While the lamp itself isn’t terribly special, we saw a lot of potential, and we love a good makeover.  This poor little lamp set in our closet for about 3 weeks until I finally garnered enough creative inspiration to take a shot at transforming it from drab to fab!

Instructions:

All I did was take some leftover t-shirt scraps (the same t-shirt from my vase makeover), mist the lamp with spray adhesive, and cover the lamp.  The nice thing about spray adhesive is that it takes a few minutes to fully set, so I was able to move the fabric around until I got the exact shape I wanted.  I tucked the ends  of the fabric into the inside of the lamp shade, and then covered them with some ribbon.  I wouldn’t say this is my favorite diy project, but it sure packs a bigger punch than the dull, white shade that I started with.  What do you think?
