I have come to the conclusion that dip dye is essentially the more stylish cousin of tie-dye.  It is pretty dang awesome.  I’m such a fan that I decided to emulate the style on some plain white towels purchased from Target.

To get the look, I used dark green Rit Dye purchased from Goodwill. I followed the instructions on the Rit Dye package to create my dye bath. Then I placed each towel about a third of the way into the bath and left it for about an hour. After reaching the desired color, I rinsed and washed the towels. All in all it took about two hours.

For the most part, I am pleased with the results; however, if I was going to do it again, I would probably choose a different color dye.  Dark green isn’t my favorite color.  I would prefer gray or dark blue.
