It’s been a while since I did a house tour segment, so I today I am going to share our bedroom.  Here is a picture of how the room looked when we moved in.

The previous owner must have had a love for bold colors and geometric shapes.  Although it’s definitely not my style, I have to admit that it is quite creative–but not creative enough to warrant leaving it as is.  One of the first things we did when we got the keys was get out the paint rollers.

We used the same colors that we did in all the other rooms –Behr Twilight Gray (750E-2) and Behr Shale Gray   (540F-4).

We already had most of the furniture from our old bedroom, with the exception of the two night stands.  The one of the left is Joey’s, and the the yellow filing cabinet on the right is mine.   They were both Goodwill Outlet finds.

The blanket at the foot of our bed is reserved for Zuzu’s naps–Yes, Zuzu has her own designated blanket.  She is such a spoiled dog.  The reason we got her a blanket is because she does this weird scratching routine before she lays down.  It’s almost like she is digging, but I think she is just trying to get comfortable.  Unfortunately, she made some big holes in our poor Anthropologie bedspread, so we bought her a cheap blanket from Ikea.  It’s all hers, so she can scratch it to her heart’s content.

The large photo on the wall is from one of my diy projects.  It’s an old photo from the Library of Congress that was enlarged and printed on engineering prints.

Here is a breakdown of  where we got all the furniture and decor:  Bed, Blanket, & Rug Ikea; Bedspread Anthropologie; Nightstands Goodwill Outlet; Sheets Target; Accent Pillow Nordstrom; Tin Guitar made by Joey; Dulcimer gift; Photo Print: DIY project.

I hope you enjoyed a peek into our home!
